Prince Edwin Okon, Ph.D

Prince Edwin Okon was born on November 20, 1973 to the family of Late Etubom O. O. E. Ndowong III in Ekpene Ibiabong Eki of Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He attended Hope Waddell Training Institution and thereafter proceeded to University of Port Harcourt where he bagged a First Degree in Finance and Banking where he earned several Awards including the Best Graduating Student of his Department. He has an MBA and M.Sc. in Finance from the prestigious University of Lagos, and currently pursuing a Ph.D in Finance and Banking.

Prince Edwin Okon has 27 years of working experience in the Finance and Banking Sectors. In the course of his Career, he has won several Awards and provided business solutions to Local and International Companies in the Cement Sector, FMCG, Oil and Gas, Gold Mining, Consumer products amongst others. Some of the Companies he provided his services to before his current role included Lafarge Plc, Dangote Cement, Dangote Refinery, Dangote Sugar, BUA Cement, BUA Sugar, Tolaram Group, Nigerian Breweries, Nigerian Bottling Company, NSIA, CHI Group, amongst others.
Having served in the Private Sector and garnered relevant experiences over the years, Prince Edwin Okon in June 2023 was appointed by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State to serve as the Executive Chairman, Cross River Internal Revenue Service and he has in the past one year been able to change the story and landscape of revenue generation in the State; building and growing the revenue of the State from and average monthly position of N1.9bn to N3.4billion at the end of June, 2024. During this period, he has been able to change the narratives of the Service and supported in ensuring availability of funds in meeting the dreams of aspirations of the People’s Agenda of the Governor. No wonder Cross River State is now ranked amongst one of the States with improved Transparency Index in the Country.
Prince Edwin Okon is a Strategist who loves adding value to human life, hence, his passion for service above self. No wonder he served as the President of Rotary Club, District 9110, Lagos.
He is married to Dr. Mrs. Ime Maria Edwin Okon and the marriage is blessed with 3 lovely children.
