Dear Taxpayers,
- As you are all aware, more than 170 confirmed cases have been reported in the country so far. This global pandemic is already impacting social, economic and other activities across the world. In view of this development the state Governor; His Excellency Sir (Prof) Ben Ayade recently issued a Press Release dated Monday 23rd March, 2020. directing all civil/Public servants except those on essential services (medical personnel and revenue officers) tostay away from work for an initial period of 2 weeks with immediate effect.
Based on this, the CRIRS has put into place precautionary measures to ensure a safe working environment for the well-being of our Staff, Taxpayers, Stakeholders, and those who visit our tax offices across the state.
- Please note that while our offices remain open, we have taken the following precautionary measures:
- Taxpayers are urged to make use of our self-service e-platforms for obtaining Tax Identification numbers (TIN), filing of tax returns, payment of Taxes and application for Tax Clearance Certificates as much as possible. This will not only relieve taxpayers of the need to physically visit our tax offices for this purpose but also ensure more efficient and timely delivery.
- CRIRS offices are equipped with infrared temperature measuring devices. Staff, taxpayers and all visitors entering our premises will be screened at entry points and persons with temperatures higher than 38
are denied access to the facility in line with precautionary measures put in place and would be reported immediately to COVID- 19 emergency centre. Visitors to CRIRS offices are expected to write their names and functional phone numbers in the visitors registers before proceeding to any of our offices. Please note that the screening will be conducted by trained personnel without physical contact.
- CRIRS offices across the state have also been equipped with soap, hand sanitizers and running water at the entrance of our tax offices;We expect taxpayers to make use of these facilities ahead of engaging with our staff, who have also been provided with additional protective gear such as gloves and protectivemasks. All meetings with taxpayers are limited to not more than five (5) people at a time.

- We therefore will require full cooperation and support from all our taxpayers in order to generate revenue that Government will utilize to continue to provide infrastructure, health services and other palliatives to all Nigerians.

- The Management of the CRIRS will continue to adhere to the Governments directives by urging absolute compliance from our visitors with the above guidelines for our commonsafety.
